I got these for my daughter to use for a series of lessons, hoping they'd be good skates to learn in and last her a couple of years so they could be passed down to my son also. The skates adjusted easily, had good support, were comfortable & seem like fine skates. BUT, they had to be sharpened before using ($10 at the rink) and at the first lesson the instructor was reluctant to let her even try them since they are hockey skates. I insisted & soon saw why. She could hardly stay upright for more than 5 seconds while her classmates of similar ability were gliding over the ice. Once she put on figure skates she had an easier time, though her inherent (lack of) ability obviously was a factor, too. I'm keeping them for now- hoping that with practice she will be able to use them but for anyone looking for an economical alternative to renting for a beginner skater I can't recommend these.
I bought these skates for my 3.5 year old son. He wears a normal, not wide, size 9/10 in most shoes. I bought him a size Small. I tried adjusting them to each size, which was easy to do, but his feet didn't fit in them on any of them. They looked great and seemed liked a great idea, but need to return them.
Wide, heavy and clunky. For all the extra padding, these should not have "hurt" through the bottom of the foot with lump and bumps, since the cheaper brand we had before never had any problems. too bad, nice idea.
These skates are very narrow and small. My son's shoe size is a little smaller than a 10 and his feet are very narrow. I bought the 11-13 size skates. On the 11 setting they were too short and narrow with just his bare feet, no socks. I couldn't even get his foot in. I adjusted to the 12 setting and they fit without socks, but I've now lost a whole year of value out of them being adjustable. They seem a little more comfortable than hockey skates, but not as comfortable as my rec skates.
