My 7 year old loves them and says they keep her feet really warm. This is her first pair of skates so I did not want to spend too much until I knew she would like skating. Good starter skate, but the clasp on one side flies off, but luckily the laces are the backup. Overall, price is right, good 2 years out of them expected.
My daughter loves these skates. They're more secure than her last pair, which had velcro and never seemed to fit right. My only concern is that the ankle latch seems flimsy -- it's plastic and I hope it doesn't break. She's 6, but still not quite able to put these on my herself as the ankle latch is a little tricky. Overall, she loves them for her outdoor skating, even subzeio temps, and says they are so comfy.
These were very uncomfortable for my 5 year old who LOVES to skate. My older daughter (9) didn't have any problems, but my youngest said the bottom of her feet hurt really bad. I am exchanging them for the pink comfort figure skates. It might have to do with the fact that these are "expandable" skates.
My daughter had a pair of the LLBean pink figure skates and liked them, but grew out of them. My older daughter has the women's version of these skates and likes them, but when I got the child version for my younger daughter, she said they were uncomfortable because there is a ridge/seam just below where the tongue meets the skate (at the bottom of the laces) that rubs the top of her feet and is very uncomfortable. We will return them unfortunately.
