My wife and I are kayaking 60 miles of the Charles River from the burbs to Boston Harbor in our LLBean Loon (OldTown) kayaks. There are 10 dams requiring portage along the route. This carrier has been awesome! Easy on and off! Sturdy and stable on all terrain! Easily stowed! Highly recommended!
I have dragged my kayak everywhere with these wheels for four summers, and they are still in in great shape. Today, on a canoe carry in the Adirondacks, we passed a canoe and a kayak that had abandoned using their wheels on the trail. But my friend and I bounced along over roots and rocks with our LL Bean wheels. One person came over to see what we were using and vowed to get the same as soon as he could. I would not leave home without them.
I love it! It gives me the independence of going kayaking myself anytime I want to. I am a 57 year old woman and now I don't need any help. I purchased one from a major sporting chain and took it back. It did not work.
