This is easy to hook onto the kayak, and once on it is secure. The cradle goes near the very end of the kayak and there is one strap that goes over the top of the kayak. There is a large metal hook that hooks onto the back edge of the coaming behind the seat (I had to drill a hole for the hook to fit into), and there are two straps attached to the hook that you have to tighten. These two straps keep the wheels from pulling backwards. It goes on rather quickly.
The problem with this cart is that it fits at the end of the kayak, so it only carries half the weight of the kayak - you have to carry the other half. There are some carriers that fit farther from the end, so the carrier is bearing a higher percentage of the total weight of the kayak. This may present a problem for some people.
Works great, we tow one kayak behind our golf car and strap the second accross the rear seat. The cart tracks well behind the golf cart on an unpaved and rough road. We travel about 1/2 mile to water access. I am working on a side by side set up and will buy a second cart if my homegrown design works.
I have a future beach kayak. The kayak does not fit deep into the "V" but still snuggles in nicely and transports easily. It's the right price, sturdy, and recommended by this kayaker.
