Cool kayak tool
PostedMarch 12, 2009
This is a very functional and compact way to portage your kayak. It is simple and installs fast on the stern keel. It works well and allows you to pull a kayak over moderate terrain. Then it tucks in behind the seat. I remember lugging two of kayaks up and down paths and banks with two people thinking I would have a cardiac. Well welcome to the wheel. It allows each paddler to take care of their own boat.

Best design yet!

Two boats (old heavy Folbot Super 17.5 set up for sailing and Wilderness Pungo 12) and advancing age made moving them around rather tiring. Cart works equally well on either. Since using this cart, can now unload in the parking lots and walk the boats easily to the water's edge at the Maine State Parks, fold it up and stow it onboard. When done for the day, it doesn't mind staying right on the boat(s) on the roof for the ride back home.

Amazed
PostedAugust 26, 2008
Promised myself that if I liked the product, I'd write about it. Well... I more than like it. I live in downtown Memphis, TN and kayak the Mississippi river. 2 boats - Perception - Carolina 14 and Kiwi II. The Stowaway fits both with ease. Like putting a bridle on a horse and no carrots or sugar cubes. I can roll either boat out of basement storage and traverse 2 1/2 blocks to the river for launch without breaking a sweat - okay! that part's not quite true... Memphis can get really hot in the summer... but the roll is extremely smooth... over multiple trolley tracks, sidewalks, cobble stones and a pretty fair downhill grade for part of the trip and uphill on the return. Rolls like a dream and fits in the back Carolina storage compartment without a hitch or behind the back seat of the Kiwi. Almost too easy. I highly recommend this product. Caveat - if you don't work-out or are not in reasonable shape, a long roll will be a little trying depending on your boat as there's still some weight on the pull end, but I have not found that to be a "deal killer". Still recommend the stowaway...

Stowaway Kayak Cart
PostedAugust 5, 2008
I love this product. I live two blocks from the Erie Canal and this Kayak Cart lets me walk right to the water without the bother of putting the kayak on my car. Quick and easy to use! Three of my neighbors bought them too. I think I should get a commission on sales!
