I would like to modify my earlier review of this rod carrier. I bought two of them. I recently came back after a 16 day fishing trip and I used them extensively. I can say that these rod cases are excellent. I remember I was somewhat suspicious of the magnet catches on the front pockets. No longer. These held up really well with a lot of handling and packing. These rod cases are both nice looking and functional. Thanks
Let me start by saying, "I'm a sucker" for waxed canvas and leather. This is a good looking case made of those materials. The case is well made, practical and very useable. I have three rods that I keep in tubes, and they fit the case perfectly. The pockets are great for holding small lure, and or, fly boxes, as well as accommodating reels.
Perfect for loading up and taking on a trip. I keep a fly rod, a spin rod, and a tenkara rod, and associated reels and tackle in mine. Its perfect for leaving in the van so its always available.
This is NOT a hard type case and I would not recommend for checking in as luggage at the airport. It WILL fit in an overhead compartment as a carry on.
A great piece of travel/storage equipment, thanks for making available.
Highly recommended. This extremely stylish bag is great. It looks fantastic - it gets compliments just about everywhere - is comfortable to carry, will fit easily in the cabin of a plane, and will carry most of what you need for a couple of days fishing.
On my most saltwater trip I carried three rods (#8, #10 and #11), with three matching reels and one extra spool. I also managed to fit in a few spools of tippet material, clippers, and some flies in ziploc bags.
For a week long trip you might need a bigger bag - one that carries four or more rods - but for weekends and short trips where you won't need more than three rods this is the perfect bag.
