No fancy gimmicks, no bells and whistles, just an easy to use basic compass. The fixed declination correction scale is a nice feature. The lanyard provided is almost worthless, but you can use your own and it doesn't detract from the basic user friendly design.
We wanted a compass for our grandson but we didn't want to spend a lot. This one seems to fit the bill however we found that the hanging cord is way too short. The compass is being sold for adults and the cord will be too short for our 7 year grandson. There is no way that he could wear it around his neck and still be able to use it correctly. Sorry...
