Best Upland Jacket I Own
PostedFebruary 10, 2010
I ordered 5 different jackets including this one from major outdoor clothing companies and quickly settled on this one as the clear standout in the group. It is light and does not restrict movement when shouldering a gun. Having just returned from a grouse hunting trip I can attest to it's durability in the brush and it's waterproof-ness in the snow. This will be the only upland jacket I'll be wearing from now on.
One thing I would like to see is more attachment points/loops for hanging radios (dog or human), GPS's, etc. I'm going to add them on the jacket I have.

Superior Jacket
PostedOctober 29, 2009
You can't go wrong with any clothing that has L.L. Bean and Gore-Tex written on it. This jacket saved my hunt while hunting pheasants in South Dakota. The temperature was 41 degrees, raining and the wind was blowing 29 mph. I stayed warm and dry and hunted all day. Six members of our group sat in the truck and watched 4 of us hunt. Out of the 4, I was the only one dry at the end of the day. This jacket performed flawless. Sheaded rain and burrs. Several in my group wrote the name and model number of the jacket down to order their own for next year. I agree it might be nice to have a hood and a zip in liner.

Mid to late Fall upland game bird coat.
PostedNovember 23, 2008
I am using the khaki/orange version two seasons now. It is a soft, dry and warm coat. Holds a lot of catridges in the pockets and plenty of birds in the game pouch. It has a lot of bells and whistles for a days hunt. Very visible for bird hunts. The coat sheds water and layers up well. It also stows well on warmer days. Buy at least one and pair it with some briar chapped pants with a tic cuff.
