These pants are sturdy and very comfortable. Water beads up on them. With a thermal base layer they are as warm as you need, especially if your moving about. i use them to work in and around my boat. Padded knees do their job.
These pants are suited for 60s or cooler. I wore them all day on a hike with the dog and they kept the wind out entirely, shed water nicely, and were warm. Now when it comes to brush and stickers I didn't put them through the ringer but everything I encountered (no honeylocust yet) I didn't feel anything poke through. After the hike and as the day wore on it became noticeable that my legs were sweating on the front side of the pant, so I can't recommend that you wear them all day lounging around the house. They were tight in the hips so if you are planning on wearing long underwear think about one size larger or very thin underwear. They are a little bulky from the thigh down though almost like a snow pant. Haven't worn them quail hunting yet but will add to my review and maybe a star in the future...
The design of these pants are nice but with 3 weeks of birding, the fabric is pilling or getting fuzzy so that the multitude of seeds & stickers are sticking to them more than the dog. So I am returning these pants I bought for my husband.
These pants are the most comfortable upland pants I have ever used. I gave them a beatdown in South Dakota for 5 days of fun. They worked perfectly. The material is comfortable, tough, and dries quickly. The hems are tougher than I expected and mine did not wear out at all, they look like new. I had a light base layer on with these pants and I was comfortable posting and walking in temperatures as low as 14 degrees with 15 mph winds with gusts up to 30 mph. I had no burrs stuck to my pants, no scratches on my legs. Plus I had the best looking pants in town! Job well done LL Bean!
