Technical Upland Pants Meet Expectations
PostedDecember 24, 2014
I've worn my Technical Upland Pants only twice, but already know that they meet expectations. They are very comfortable, they protected me from the burrs and briars that I encountered in the Field, the size was true to form, and they look downright cool. although I haven't worn them for a full season or two, I am sure that they will hold up with the best of them. Well done LL Bean! I am looking forward to slipping them on again when I head back out to chase upland game.

Good idea, but short of the mark

I bought these thinking they would be the perfect upland pants. However, I don't care for them and will be returning them - thank you, LLBean customer service. The property of the material which makes them stretchy also makes them stick, rather than slide over your underclothes. The material also doesn't breathe well. I find them uncomfortable to wear.

Great Allaround
PostedOctober 22, 2014
Purchased these pants for early season Wingshooting and they have not let me down. Really they can be used all season with a base layer in colder times. I real think they are well made and the kevlar around the bottom is a real plus.

brush pants that attract burrs
PostedOctober 10, 2014
These pants are light, breathable and the fit is excellent. They are great for early season hunting in dry conditions. This is the most comfortable pair of brush pants I own. I have two pairs of heavier pants, one with gore tex for cold/rainy/snowy weather. I bought these pants for times when regular brush pants would be overkill. In that capacity they work wonderfully. The downside is that while grouse and woodcock hunting in Michigan, these pants pick up 50-100 burrs each time I wear them. Some of the burrs even adhere to the front of the pants where the cordura type fabric is located. After half a dozen hunts, these pants are beginning to show wear and loose threads on the stretch fabric portions of the pants. When wading through briars, I can feel thorns penetrating the fronts of the pants, although they are worlds better than jeans. All in all a mediocre grouse hunting pant. I leave them in the garage and don't even bother cleaning burrs off of them anymore. I can't wait for colder weather when I can wear my heavy duty hunting pants.
