Got them for 5 seasons now, still in one piece even after all the beating. Light, super comfortable and they protect me against the worst vegetation I can find... Hey, what do you want more than that ?
I am using these pants in Hawaii climbing up and down hills and valleys all day. Even with our high humidity these pants are "just what the doctor ordered !!!!". Wicks pesperation very efficiently, and never did bind when stepping up while hiking our steep hllsides. I've been trying everyone's brand of pants with "briar" protection; this is the only one that doesn't restrict my movements while: hiking, climbing, squating, stooping, and otherwise contorting my body to get under and over fences, hills, hiking, crawling, etc. while in the field Upland hunting for gamebirds.
The only reason for the four#4# stars instead of five#5# is that these pants would be "perfect" if they had a couple more belt loops to better support the waist band of the pants. With all the "aerobic" and contortionist moves required while upland hunting here in Hawaii, the addition of a couple more well spaced belt loops would greatly enhance the fit and more secure feel to the pants.
I bought these for my husband, who does upland hunting. He wears a 36 in all his pants. He has never taken a different size as long as I've known him; so I bought him a 36. They were so tight that he couldn't even bring the buttons close to each other at the waist. The leg width fit (which is usually his biggest problem), and the length fit, but he could NOT button the waist. I don't know if the pair we received were miss-sized, but it definitely seemed that way. We're going to have to return them, since there's no way he can actually wear them. If they are miss-sized, then I think it shows poor quality control on the part of the manufacturer. These weren't exactly inexpensive so I'm surprised to have this issue. I've also never had this issue with an LLBean product. I have purchase other upland pants for him and the 36 fit. Other than the sizing, they seemed like they would be okay.
