Several previous reviews referred to the sizing being a problem. I should have listened. The small was supposed to be for a 21 5/8" circumference but was only 18" long, and that doesn't account for fastening. LL Bean was very good about the exchange, and the large is big enough, but it doesn't stay up over my nose. I'm going to have to add an extra band just to keep it from slipping down.
I bought a few face masks along with this and it was the best fit of the bunch, but it didn't cover enough of my cheeks to really matter. Otherwise, a great snug fit and I appreciated the nose contouring. But it was cut so shallow that even wearing a hood or hat leaves most of your face still exposed.
I ordered the largest size available which is the large and it's way too small. I'm 6'2, 230# and it keeps coming undone and falls down my face. I don't have a small nose, but there is way too much room around the nose, especially for a mask that is small on me.
There should be an XL with a better fitting nose.
Material seems like it would work if the size was better.
I saw the poor scores on fit for this product. But there were good reviews too so I thought I would chance it because I have a real need running a open boat at speed in winter.
Most reports say the mask was way too big, mine is too, but only in one dimension... the nose area. It looks freaky, like Frosty was the model and he had an extra big carrot that year. The kind of carrot that would chip the tooth of a mule.
Check out the photo. Nuff said. I will not return because I MUST have some protection and I have access to people that know how to sew. Can't say I satisfied... just no choice.
