These handwarmers get luke warm and stay that way for about 2 hours, then start cooling down. Best to put them right into your mittens, next to your skin. I tried between my fleece mittens and the leather chopper mitts I wear over but got no heat. 10 for ten dollars is a good price. I have Reynauds as well as poor circulation due to meds and need warm hands to work.
I have ordered the handwarmers twide for my daughter and she loves them dearly! Very easy to use and lasts a very long time. Keep up the great work LL Bean
I made the mistake of buying a different brand this year--they take 30-60 minutes to START warming up, meanwhile you freeze. These are hot right away and stay hot. On weekends in the winter, I sometimes have to spend 10-12 hours outside with no heat in sight. These are a lifesaver (toe warmers are good too!).
