Sturdy and fashionable pack. A nice departure from all the technical fabrics and a great nostalgic look. It's a bit heavier and lacks some convenience features that you would expect from a modern pack. But a very attractive option if you like waxed cotton gear for kicking around and don't mind the other stuff.
I purchased this bag about 6 years ago and since then, it has survived some tough Wisco winters, carried hundreds of undergraduate books, and been across the country from New York to Seattle. I love how much I can carry, and it has become my traveling companion. One problem I have had however, is that one shoulder strap has lost it's shape, becoming round instead of flat. This causes my shoulder to hurt when the pack is full. Were it not for my emotional attachment, I would exchange it. I have also pondered just keeping it until it falls apart and then replacing it, but I have a feeling this bag will outlast my lifetime. Please post a fix for the disfigured strap if anyone has an idea.
My son said this rucksack is perfect with its many pockets for storage and rugged look. It arrived right on schedule for my son's December 24th birthday. I live in MA and he lives in OR. It was very easy to shop online for this item.
