I will begin by saying that I am a huge fan of L.L. Bean. I saw this backpack in Maine while visiting my son who was stationed there in the Navy. After thinking about it for a few days, I ordered it online.
For the 1st few months I was crazy happy about this purchase. Plenty of room and comfort. Then I started having problems with the material tearing at the connect seams. 1st was the front pack pocket. Then the side pocket. The canvas material is weak and cannot hold up to daily use.
Regrettably, I'm back online tonight looking for a replacement product. It's the 1st and only thing I've ever purchased from L. L. Bean that I regretted.
I usually do not write reviews for products I have purchased. With this rucksack I bought here, it is worth my time to do so.. I have used it every day since it arrived a year ago..I have tested the seams, zippers and the hang up leather loop. I carry all my work items in it, computer, camera, phone, video camera, books, hats, jackets even shoes, it has held up to every task I have put it through. I do not leave home without it..
The fabric was amazingly weak and tore easily. The only useful part of the pack is the leather which is beautiful. The rest began to tear apart after a year of easy use.
This is an excellent backback! it holds a lot of books, or clothes, or whatever you need. It has ample pockets for me, and is extremely durable for both camping, or the urban jungle!
