My husband and I bought two Manatee Deluxe Kayak Packages to use on the reservoir near our home for our anniversary. They arrived in 2 weeks after a bit of trouble with the shipping company. Twice they told us they would deliver and didn't show up. I made a call to LLBean customer service and the kayaks were delivered the next morning. Thank you LLBean! We have been out on the reservoir twice in one week and just love the kayaks. They are easy to load and unload on our car top. We found them easy to turn and feel they track well. We felt comfortable paddling on the reservoir and were surprised how stable they were even in windy conditions. They exceeded our expectations and will be enjoyed, I am sure, for years to come.
Our 2 Manatee Deluxe Kayak Packages arrived in great shape (all the way to New Mexico) in less than 2 weeks. Took them on a NM lake maiden voyage with my 11 and 19 year old children. Boats easy to load and offload, and worked well on quiet lake. When the wind picked up, both boats stayed stable in the whitecaps and tracked well. Most impressive was how comfortable the seats are! Now we probably need to buy more boats since we all had so much fun.
Just went out in my new kayak and it was great. All the things that it said it was and more. Great value and performance. Easy to manoeuver for a beginner. If you are a recreational paddler and don't want to spend alot of $$ then this is it. Great service from LL Bean. Thank you!
I ordered two of these Manatee Deluxe Kayak packages at the end of March for myself and my 12 year old daughter. I received them, via freight shipment, in nine days (we're in Wyoming, they shipped from S.C.). The packaging was great and everything was exactly as described on the site. We have had them out on the lake several times so far and absolutely love them. They have plenty of space and leg room in the cockpit (I'm 5'10") and are light enough that my daughter and I can get them on top of my Ford Expedition without assistance. I had only paddled once before, in a Necky ocean kayak with a drop down skeg, and am very pleased with these for recreational use. The stability is great and they paddle very easily. I think the tracking is fantastic for a kayak without a rudder or skeg. My 12 year old had never paddled before and was immediatly comfortable in the boat. I would highly recommend these boats for beginning and intermediate flatwater paddlers!
