Although my wife and I have a little kayaking experience in a two-person kayak, buying two Manatees was our first venture into personal kayaks.
We couldn't be more pleased. We took them out for the first time a few days ago and within a couple minutes we were cruising across the lake we were on.
The Manatees are easy to handle and quite stable. Neither of us had any concerns about tipping over.
I was especially surprised how effortlessly they glided across the water. I was even able to keep up with a Hobiecat sailboat as we carried on a conversation-the breeze wasn't too strong.
Overall, we're very pleased with the service and product.
I purchased two of the Manatee 10' Kayak packages. One for myself and one for my 11 year old son. They are definitely a hit! This is the first Kayaks we've had and we are just in love with them. Very easy to manage, very stable, well made, and definitely a great sleek look in a kayak. I wish I had purchased these about four years ago when my son started taking an interest in the water and boats. If you are trying to make a choice on if this is the Kayak for you because you've never had one before - don't hesitate. I recommended the Manatee to my neighbor and now we both enjoy the river behind our houses! I'm 67 years old and not very strong, but I can handle this kayak in moderate winds and in and out the back of my SUV! It is so comfortable I never want to leave it! And I need to have double knee replacement surgery! Just get it!
