ProsDurable, Great Value, Performing as Expected, lightweight
I ordered this kayak and it was shipped to me within a few weeks. I took it out on the water the same day and have been enjoying it ever since.
I had never been in a kayak before and had intermediate canoe experience. I found this boat very easy to adjust to. Everyone loves to say kayaks are tippy, but I just roll my eyes and tell them it depends on the design. The ONLY times I am concerned about the stability of this boat is when I am getting in or out--it's a bit different than a canoe because you can't stand up and just walk out. Otherwise it feels quite stable indeed.
The kayak tracks well, yet remains quite maneuverable. I have used it on several small/medium sized lakes, as well as small rivers in central Wisconsin. It is a pleasure to use.
The seat is comfortable, and very adjustable. The handles are good and the bungee straps come in handy for my water bottle. The foot braces are awesome and the thigh padding was a really great idea.
I like how lightweight it is--makes it really easy to carry and transport on top of my car rack. I'm happy with the color I ordered--Robin's Egg--because I didn't want to have to look at a bright red or orange canoe all day when I'm trying to relax out on the water on a hot day. The color is pretty mellow and I don't really notice it.
I consider this boat to be a great value for the money. The included paddle works great as well and has 3 adjustments (can be "feathered").
My husband and I purchased these kayaks to replace the original Manatee models we've had for about 4yrs. These are far superior to the older ones! We love the larger cockpit opening, as it's much easier for us to get in and out because of knee surgeries we've had, and they track so much better in windy conditions - you do not have to paddle as hard, and they are easier to control. We took them down one of the rivers near our home and had a blast! We highly recommend these kayaks!! As for the older ones, the grandkids use them now!
We purchased 2 kayaks and have enjoyed using them. The adjustable seat is great. Makes kayaking much more comfortable. They maneuver easily on the lakes and streams that we have been on. I also read the other reviews to help me decide on this purchase.
This is the first Kyak I have ever owned I bought it for the lake we just bought a house on and love it. The adjustable foot rests are great and the overall quality is great as weel. I purchaced the delux package and would suggest you do the same the paddle is very good and having the cover is always a good idea
