My wife and I RV a lot and have many opportunities to use a kayak in our travels. We also live on a lake. After considerable research on kayaks for recreational use, we selected the Manatee Deluxe Package. We took them out on our maiden voyage on the lake and were very pleased. They are very stable, track well and easy to maneuver. After viewing some online instructions via YouTube for paddling, entering, exiting and maneuvering a kayak, we greatly improved our efficiency and enjoyment on the water. Now we'll take them with us on our RV adventures. We love the Manatee and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a recreational kayak.
First I have to say KUDOS to LLBean for their consistent outstanding customer service. I ordered 2 Manatee Kayaks online and the following weekend LL Bean put them on sale. I called and they credited me for the diffence. These are our first kayaks and they are very stable. We are having a blast. Looking forward to being courageous enough to put my Boykin Spaniel in the kayak with me. The Deluxe Package is a great deal!
Got one for me last year and had such a good time wife asked me to get her one for her birthday. Actually ordered hers online - and was pleased with the entire experience. Shipping company called to schedule delivery, and had NO problems having the driver call me before he showed up so I could leave work to meet him. If your a beginner (like we are), I think this is the best deal out there. . .
