This is my first Kayak purchase. I debated whether to buy a sit in or on top. I'm glad I went for the sit in. I like the large opening that is easy to get in and out of and I like having the storage area. I have taken it out on the river twice and love it. It is very nice quality, except for one thing, the bungee cord on the seat back broke when I first sat down, I need a replacement. Other than that, I am happy with my new toy.
The manatee kayaks handled very well in the water. Good leg room and pit space. Only problem was putting the pit cover on: we had a lot of trouble getting them on as they were very tight.
I am new to kayaking and did a lot of research on line before deciding to purchase the Manatee DLX package. Wow, when I received the Kayak I thought she was a beauty you can look anywhere and you will never get a better price for such quality. I was a little apprehensive the first time I went out with it, mostly about getting in and out of it but it was so easy and the kayak was very stable on the water and it tracked great. I am looking forward to many fun times in my kayak.
Perfect size (fits inside my Outback), perfect weight (easy to carry by myself) perfect kayak for a beginning woman kayaker in her 50's. Absolutely love it!
