We lost power for 48 hours during the recent windstorm. We were able to listen our favorite radio stations and get updates about the power. The reception is great and this little speaker has surprisingly good sound.
I got the Trax Audio Player primarily to use during power outages, so we could track news and weather and enjoy a bit of music. Last year we had an ice storm that knocked us out for LONG week. It was half price and I had a coupon to cover it, so I went for it. But the sound is tinny, the radio stations hard to tune in, and the weather report channels even harder to find. But I may also find it useful out in the yard while I'm working.
I like this little radio. I set it in my window and it picks up local stations. I couldn't get the weather channel, but I do not live too close to any stations. I have windows that are tinted and it still picks up great with the solar. It will be nice company in my garden addition this spring, summer and fall summer as I plant, weed, and harvest. Well worth the money. I have a small MP3 players and I didn't have the right hookup for it, but should play and iPod OK.
