Cute and useful toy

This little player is great for the price. Comes with a sturdy travel case.
Now if you want stereo sound, spend more money. If you just want a portable player with radio and weatherband, then this is great.

Music outside :)

I bought 3 and sent them to our kids. It is great to use on the deck so I can listen to the radio or my ipod music while I garden! It is a bit tinny in sound but what would you expect from such a small item! I haven't had to charge it yet due to the solar panel! Great Buy!

Great little radio!

Very good radio reception, and speaker, in front, gives good volume and clarity. I'm presently using AC power, but outdoors, and with power outages, I'm sure the other two options will come in handy. This was an unbelieveable bargain!

Nice "little" radio...
PostedJune 19, 2010
I've been looking into an "emergency" radio for some time. I wanted something small and self-powered. This radio works either by cranking it up with the handle on the back, leaving it in the light to charge with the small solar panel, or you can charge it in an outlet with the supplied USB wall charger.
The radio is small, very small (about 3"H x 3"W x 1.5"D). I've seen others like this but they didn't come with the ipod input plug, the USB charging option, and a case. They also cost more than the $20 I paid on LL Bean (it was on sale).
The radio sounds pretty good for its size. I was able to receive AM/FM & hear my ipod when I plugged it in. I couldn't pick up anything on the weather band but I'm not too surprised due to my location. It sounds like its working, just no available signal. There is a red LED light on the front that shows signal strength.
The radio comes with everything you'll need (radio, USB a/c wall charger, ipod cables & case with clip).
My only disappointment was the tuning adjustment dial. It is "stiff" and difficult to fine tune into a station. I've only had it a few days & it seems to be improving with use so maybe it just needs to be broken in some more.
All in all a nice little radio for home, car or camping. Even if you only get it for emergencies (power outages, etc.) you'll be glad you have it in the house. Never needs batteries & that's alright with me.
