I can actually get a radio station that I listen too. I turned the handle for power for one minute and it played my ipod shuffle instantly without plugging in. The sound is only one speaker, so quality is good for listening to the news or pod cast, no great for music. I bought this for listening to pod cast while traveling in my car that doesn't have the ability to listen to my pod casts.
This is a great little radio for emergency broadcast, no batteries needed.
A nice, light, multi-powered way to take sound with you. The speaker provides better than expected fidelity and adapts to just about any sound source. I hooked it up to a microphone and used it as a mini bull horn.
Audio volume and quality is good considering the two inch speaker. AM/FM is acceptably sensitive. VHF will receive the local weather broadcast and is sufficiently broad banded to receive the 2M amateur radio frequencies in an unsquelched manner. Very good audio quality as an mp3 amplifier for listening to audio books. I keep this on shelf by the window and it seems to recharge sufficiently with sunlight for daily use.
