Great little speaker for use with my iPhone. I listen to broadcasts and don't always want to be physically attached to the phone while listening. The phone isn't loud enough for me to hear some things without headphones, so I was looking for something like this. The solar feature is great because, even before it was fully charged, it provided full sound while I was outside. Should be nice for camping. It is mono, not stereo, so I haven't used it much for music, but it's quite passable for that use, as well. I like this little unit.
It might have been just the player that I received, but it was defective in that the plug hole for the IPOD connector was too big and the speaker kept cutting out.
Definitely a plus for people who don't like earphones. Music lovers beware. It's not stereo. But if you just want some of your own music, or podcasts, and a radio, this is a terrific buy for the money. The speaker is plenty loud enough especially considering it's such a small unit. My only problem has been with the adapter. If I don't keep my MP3 player and this speaker stationery when connected with the adapter, I get a lot of audio breaking up.
I purchased this a couple of weeks ago. I wanted same for my walkman for when I don't want earbuds in ears. Works very well --winding knob manuallyor using AC. Haven't tried solar yet--good sound considering how small box is----will use this when I travel. This would also be great for campers, people who have RV's--etc. I have older models from LLbean-(Reg size radios that you wind, etc---they are still working fine after many years. So give it a try--you will be pleased.
