This chair is very comfortable, nice recline feature. Great for persons with short legs. Not designed for long-haul backpacking but great for car camping, deck lounging, and short distance jaunts to great sunsets.
Bought this chair primarily for going to the beach and also for weekend camping. It's light weight and is very comfortable to sit in. The nylon strap which holds the back in place can be loosened and used as shoulder straps (shoulder strap pads built in).
The strap also tends to stretch a bit when you first sit in it, but tightening it only requires a quick tug of the end of the strap where it comes out of the adjustment buckle below the right arm rest.
Only thing I would change is the beverage holder. It's a cylinder shaped nylon mesh which is hanging off the underside of the right arm rest. You really can't put a full sized cup/glass in there because the weight makes the nylon holder lean outward & spills are likely depending on how full and/or heavy the cup/glass is. A small nylon/velcro loop on the bottom of the holder helps hold it to one of the cross-legs, but it's still pretty wobbly. Beverage cans work out ok, they won't lean far enough to spill as long as you took a drink out of it before putting it in the holder.
Although, if it were changed to a rigid plastic holder, it would stick out from the chair when it's folded up & being carried.....so I'm not sure exactly HOW I'd change it from it's current design... :)
Item# TA50151 This chair is so handy! Amazingly comfortable and sturdy for something so lightweight and compact. I love the fact that I can recline and take a nap at the beach! It may not work so well for taller people since it may not support their necks! I'm lucky that I'm on 5'2" and short-waisted, so it still supports my head when I recline! The lumbar support pad feels great on my back. The height from the ground is perfect- not so low that it's hard to get in and out of, but low enough that your legs don't get fatigued like they do from the pressure on the back of your legs that you get with standard height camping chairs. "Backpack" straps on the back mean I have more hands free to carry other things, too. This chair is great for the beach, camping...
