We received two of these chairs this afternoon and they are already to send back. They LOOK good and seem to be well made but they are not comfortable! Not even close. If a chair is a recliner it should be high enough in the back to support your head in the reclined position. With this chair , your head hangs over the back of the top of the chair.
Bought this chair as a birthday gift for my husband who has back issues and can be quite particular. The last beach chair he bought he loved and would not let anyone else sit in it. It lasted 10 years!!! He loves this chair...portable but durable seeming and good for his back. Also, hard to find camping/beach chairs with arms and this has them....worth the dough!!!
I just received this recliner chair today, so will update this review after I've had it for a while. The very first thing I noticed was the front horizontal bar digs into my legs. I have some close cell foam at the house here, and think I will cut a piece to fit in underneath the material, otherwise rather uncomfortable on the hamstrings.
Some people mention that the back creeped back on them, but I did not experience any problems with that. I do agree that it would be nice if this was about another 6 inches taller in the back for neck support. I did find using a pillow works okay though, and you could probably take a nap on this if you used something to support your legs. Napping is important on camping trips!
Wooden arms are a nice touch, but I don't think they intended for this to be left in the rain. I will use mine under my awning. Material seems perfectly adequate. I wouldn't mind a little more closed cell foam overall, but it would increase the cost too.
The chair seems to be easy to get in and out of, and folds very compactly. I'm not sure where they got 9 pounds from, seems like it weighs under five. Very easy to move around and folds up to about 4 inches wide, so pretty easy to store.
Overall, I'm happy with this compare to other offerings, but just needs a few things to make it perfect.
