Light weight and easy to use these make winter fun and enjoyable. As a mother of little ones these are a breeze to put and get outside. They are just as easy to remove. My toddlers have a pair of kids snowshoes from llbean and we spend HOURS outside -"tracking" animal prints, building snowman and snow dragons. They have made this long snowy cold winter fun.
Never snowshoed before and these were easy to use. The only thing I didn't like was the inflexibilty of the toe box while trying to put them on. I think that in the cold, the material tends stiffen up a little. Slightly cumbersome to adjust with gloves on - had to take them off to 'click' the buckles shut. As far as the actual walking goes, had no problems with these on crunchy or packed powder, even on moderate sloping terrain. Haven't tried them on fresh powder yet.
