I tried these out the other day, and they were great. I was able to go up icy slopes without a problem, and even run in them. On deep snow they kept me on top for the most part, and I was able to explore the woods in them, and cross over a lake.
Great product -- lightweight yet durable, bindings are easy to adjust and secure, plus the toe binding rotates for a smooth stride, and the crampons are great when walking on crunchy snow . . . I love everything about these snowshoes. They are making me fall in love with winter -- it is so much nicer to be outside in the fresh air and get some much needed sunshine, instead of being inside, sulking about long New England winters and waiting for spring. Take up a new hobby -- snowshoeing! You won't be disappointed with your investment.
I purchased my Winter Walkers last winter. They are perfect for my daily hikes into the woods. I go up some pretty steep hills and they do just fine. If I'm not wearing them I carry them on my pack, just in case. The bindings go on with such ease I can usually put them on without removing my gloves ---a real plus when the temps are below zero.
