I am a true beginner to snowshoeing, but these winter walkers have made it a piece of cake. They are lightweight, easy to adjust, and a great pair for my first season. I am sure in the future I will buy another pair, as these aren't very easy to walk in powder.
These snowshoes are an excellent fit--nice and snug and secure. Now I can walk my dogs anywhere in the deep snows of Pennsylvania. They just follow in the tracks that these shoes make. Highly recommended!
I've had these snowshoes for a few years, but only used them once in the beginning. With the snowstorm we've just had in the northeast, I've been out yesterday and today. My fiance also has a pair of LL Bean snowshoes, and we walked around the property and in the woods. You do sink in deep snow no matter what the length of the shoe, in my opinion. I have the old style bindings, and his has the new style. Both worked just fine. Using the Winter Walker poles really added to the unexpected workout! We had so much fun!
I ordered the women's snowshoes according the wieght chart provided by LL Bean and they were way too small. They certainly didn't hold me up in the snow nor even my young son. I ended using the snowhoes I ordered for my husband who wheighs at least 70 lbs. more than I do. The chart desparately needs to be changed.
