I have a very old flashlight which operates on electricity generated by squeezing a lever. It has been very dependable but does not provide a continuous beam of light. This flashlight has a crank that you turn and the electricity generated is stored in a battery. When turned on it provides a steady beam of light. The LEDs (light emitting diodes [3] use very little electricity so a minutes worth of turning the crank provides enough electricity for some length of time. One can switch on either one LED or 3 so there is a low beam and a high beam. How dependable it will be remains to be seen.
This is the best wind up flash light we have ever had. I love the colors. For the outdoors person the bright yellow is great because if you set it down you can find it! The flashlight fits perfectly in your hands. The two stage light is nice.
A simple and practical flashlight. The crank is easy to use even for stiff hands and fingers. Love the fact that it's ready at any time I need it, with no need to monitor batteries. Grips on the sides make it easy to crank as well as hold for every day use.
When my flashlight arrived, my husband thought I had made a dumb purchase, but when he saw how well it worked he said, "Great! Put it in the car. " It is so compact, it will fit easily in the glove compartment.
