This light is easy to wind up. It projects a nice bright light. Haven't had to use it in a storm yet, but glad I have this. Wish it had a radio on it though.
Love this light. As a scout Mom I go through flashlights like they were fudge brownies at a picnic. This light has not failed me yet. Just bought this light to send off to Italy with a young friend. I never have to worry about sending batteries! The lights are going in the backpacks for the kids this summer. Appreciate the small size too and it fits in my hand.
This represents the best crank flashlight that I have found over several years of "experiencing" other models- bought from local hardware stores,other mailorder merchants,military surplus stores,etc.I have been able to preflight an aircraft at dawn,find lost flies in the grass,find lost dogs,unload trunk & gearup to fish all in the dark using this baby.Duration on one crank is surprisingly long(often greater than an hour),and beam intensity is excellent at typical ranges(eg.finding bourbon during power outages). However,neither its diffuse LED beam nor its shape lends it to "ductaping" onto a rifle barrel when needed to spotlight unwanted yard critters,a facet that has left my wife relieved beyond description.
Recently I used my flashlight during a power outage. Then bought 2 for friends who had been left in the dark. One might also be kept in the car. The size and shape make the light easy to use. It's useful to have for emergencies..
