A couple of years ago I bought one for each of my two children. They love it! This month I purchased another for my nephew. Even at 3 years old he's able to crank the handle. Once it's warmed up you only need to give it one or two 'cranks' to get alot more light time. It's not very bright, but perfect for a little kid who wants a flashlight. Best part is you never need to buy batteries for it!
This worked really well from the first crank to first light. My husband now uses it to walk our 2 Pekingese at night. It throws a nice, bright light and best of all, does not need any batteries! The light has been consistently bright even after weeks of cranking it. Light, small enough to fit easily in your hand.
