My wife warned that these types of flashlights were usually not very bright, but I was amazed by how bright it was! Very easy to use, and very handy! I got one for each car, and an extra for the bedroom.
My kids LOVE these crank flashlights. It's easy enough for both my 4 & 7 year-old to wind up their own. I love not having to stock up on batteries when they leave their flashlights on all night long until they fall asleep. :)
Last year, I bought another version of the Crank Flashlight that was slightly larger and heavy. I like that version much better than this lighter, more flimsy version. The old version felt more substantial and more durable,and I would buy it again if I could. I just bought this crank flashlight for a relative, but I may give them my old ones because I think the old ones are better. I hope LL Bean brings back the old model.
All in all the crash flashlights are a great idea and great for having in places/situations where they might not get used often and where if they needed batteries, the batteries might go dead before the lights were used. I keep them both in my cars and house and give them to friends. They are also great for camping and for kids.
