This is a great little flashlight that powers up with the use of a wind-up dynamo. A few cranks, and voila!
Also, I've noticed that once you crank it a few times, the flashlight retains its charge. But even if it didn't, it only takes a few cranks and you've got light for quite a while. I find it fun to crank and it sure beats buying batteries that pollute.
There is one tiny detail, though: I was a bit disappointed that it didn't come with a lanyard because there is a place to attach one at the back of the flashlight.
This flashlight is a nice size, fits easily into a bag or pocket. The cranking arm turns easily and very quietly. The light emitted is amazingly bright and lasts for a long time between each cranking. I like that fact that either the light is on or off rather than having two "on" options which means always having to click twice to turn the light off. I got all three colors, can't decide which I like best. I have them placed strategically around the house so I don't have to go far to find one. Great item for a reasonable price.
I bought three--one for my mom in Nicaragua and two for me and I'll probably buy more. Never worry about batteries again--the flashlight will always work with the tiniest bit of effort winding the crank.
Took this camping over the summer and it was just what I wanted. In my home I have a big pantry type closet in my kitchen. Hard to see in the back corners, so this handy little flashlite now lives there! Recently bought 3 more for gifts this December.
