Haven't had a chance to give this lantern a full workout, but it checks outp perfectly and I expect it to be just what's needed when we next lose power in a storm.
My wife and I bought this lantern in case of power outages during the winter. We actually put the lantern to use when we were without power for 3 days courtesy of Hurricane Irene.
If you need light to just move around, it's okay. You can't read by the light or direct the light as you would a flashlight. I actually found candles to be a better alternative to the lantern.
Ad says 60 seconds of cranking = 30 minutes of light. Should say 60 seconds of cranking = 30 seconds of light. This product is not the quality I have come to expect from LL Bean.
