Last year I bought the smaller LLBean model like this so this year I bought one of these larger lamps for myself and one for my mom. LED's last for ever and with the solar and hand crank there is never a need to buy batteries again.
Quite bright. A small red light shows when the battery is being recharged (either by solar light or hand crank). Haven't had it long enough to see how long the battery lasts (per charge or long-term).
