Absolutely wonderful, no metal taste,small convenient attaches to my nursing work bag. I love it. I fill it with ice water before I go to work and always have a cold drink at my hand. I love the large clip on the spout, so easy to take along .
I already have the canteen in two different sizes. Bought this one as a gift for a friend's birthday, and had it personalized. The engraving came out very nice. I'm sure she'll love it. Great quality and price, as always.
My wife and I both bought these last spring to replace our Nalgene bottles that we had used for years and years. There are a number of different sizes of these canteens to meet all of your needs and do not take on the smell of anything that you put in them like the old plastic bottles we used for so long. They are not meant to be insulated so don't buy them if you are looking to keep something hot or cold.
We have washed predominantly by hand and my wife's bottle looks like new, however my bottle started chipping its paint a month or so after I got it and has continued to do so. If you don't mind a spotted bottle then take the chance on a painted one, otherwise I would suggest the basic steel so there is no possibility of chipping paint.
I got the blue one last year for my child to take to school with his lunch, and even though we washed it by hand (and once in a while in the dishwasher, but NEVER on the dry cycle), the paint soon started to peel off like cheap nail polish. I do like this item, however, but this time I'm buying the unpainted stainless steel one.
