Purchased 2 of these and couldn't get either of them to work. After charging, one would briefly flicker when switched on. The other failed to do anything. Manufacturer suggested replacing the batteries (which I've read others have had success with), but why go to the expense of replacing batteries on a new item? Returned both.
I was looking for a way to recycle an old Nalgene bottle (which was made with BPA). Decided to try this solar cap, which I had read about in a magazine. So far, it's been great. The light emitted is bright - equivalent to a candle or two - but not really bright enough to read by. I'm mainly using this for emergencies when the power goes out. It's durable and waterproof, which is a plus.
I just purchased the cap/bottle combination of this item. This one says it's a 2.25 inch diameter. Nalgene 'wide-mouth' are 2.25 inch diameter (58mm), as I measure the one I just purchased from LL. The cap&bottle product cap is NOT something that would fit on a Nalgene widemouth. It is a 78mm diameter, with it's own bottle. This should be more exactly measured by LL and have the information posted with product description for the benefit of potential customers. I'm not disappointed with the product, just the description's lack of helpfulness.
