I don't typically buy button front shirts, but I made an exception for this. I wanted a lightweight shirt that could serve multiple purposes for travel. It is comfortable and the fabric feels light but substantial enough. I can use it as a buttoned shirt or as a light cover-up.
I usually wear an XS shirt in LLBean sizing and it fits me perfectly in the shoulder, back, and bust. The sleeves are a tad long, but the cuffs have two buttons so I can tighten the wrist enough that the sleeve length is not a problem. In fact, it gives the sleeve a more feminine feel.
I ordered the yellow and the blue - both were much paler than shown in the photos, but still attractive.
My one criticism of the shirt is the buttons. I agree with other reviewers that the "rubbery" buttons are difficult to use. But otherwise, I'm very happy with the shirt.
I purchased this shirt as a birthday gift for a relative who lives in the desert. The quality seems nice, but the size is ridiculous. I bought the smallest size available, but it is still too large.
What good is LLBean quality if it is too big to be enjoyed? I understand that many winter items are made for layering, but nobody wants to layer under a "Tropicwear" shirt.
LLBean, please make smaller sizes and athletic cuts for both men and women!
This new shirt in blue joins my 3-year old yellow one in my wardrobe for both leisure and travel! Lightweight, comfortable, and versatile, these shirts are great for adding an extra layer when it's cool and for sun protection when it's hot and sunny outside. They pack easily, travel well, and dry quickly, a big plus for long trips! By the way, the yellow one looks just as good as the day I bought it in Freeport, ME, in the summer of 2010!
I have 6 of the sleeveless shirts and wear them every day in the garden during the summer. All the dirt just washes away and they dry in a sec even when the hose catches me unexpectedly. Love them. I said in the comment below that I purchased them two years ago but purchased them over a two year period and just purchased two more.
