I do love this shirt. I have 2 (my husband has 2 in different colours from mine). The shirt is perfect for warm to hot weather except for one thing. LL Bean needs to offer it in petite sizes for the many of us that are very active retirees. The colours are perfect; the shirt lauders beautifully by hand and air dries quickly-great for adventure traveling, and all sorts of outdoor activities. It keeps the sun off as well as decreasing annoyance with insects. It wicks and keeps me cool. But the fit is not right. I'll put up with it due to the qualities of the shirt but I sure would love to buy a few more.
I know others have made the same request for petite sizes in this product. There is no other shirt made by LLBean comparable to this one so it can't be substituted for some other shirt.
I cannot find a sunblock that doesn't irritate my skin. Even the fancy ones from the Derm office cause great irritation. So plan B is to invest in some wide brim hats and sun shirts. This one is super light weight so I don't feel like I might melt on a hot day. I got it in the white which makes it feel even cooler.
The other reviews said it was fitted so I ordered up a size and it's a tad big. But nice as I'll probably be wearing a pack or have my camera and I don't like being constricted.
I might have to have a 2nd one of these in my rotation.
This shirt is just right. The colors are great and the material feels really nice. The stitching and material feel high quality. The only point to note is the sizes run small. I usually wear a large (size 14), but due to the other reviewers comments, I order XL. The XL fits just right.
I like to use it over a tank top or sleeveless to provide the uv protection. It fit better just as a first layer. I probably should have ordered the larger size for the purpose I want.
