Living in an area with very long, very sunny summers, and having gotten to an age where I value my skin more than a good tan, this shirt sounded ideal. I bought a size larger than I might normally as I wanted to be sure it would fit comfortably over a tee. It seems to me to run a tad small, but perhaps that's the "fitted" look. The color (lapis something) doesn't match the website color, but it's not offensive. The pockets are handy and spacious; plenty of room for my typical devices. Hopefully it will turn out to be light-weight and comfortable in the heat as advertised. All in all, a happy purchase. Will buy another. Took away one star because it seems expensive for something I'm going to be wearing for working in the yard...but that can't be helped.
I own three shirts like this in the short sleeve version and one in the sleeveless version. I added the long sleeve to my collection because I like to travel with them. The shirts are easy to rinse out in a sink and are dry in the morning. They pack well, can be worn as a shirt/jacket with a shell underneath, can be carried around in a backpack and the front zipper pocket will hold your passport for easy access. All around a great travel companion.
The Tropicwear shirt is great for anytime of the year in southern California. I have the medium and large in this shirt. I am 5'7" 144lbs and liked the medium because it is fitted and not to tight so I tried the large and it definitely has more room to move in if you really like loose shirts. I love both of my shirts, the material is very nice and looks great with a touch of iron after wash and hang dry. I get compliments every time I wear the shirt. No regrets, I will probably get more in different colors.
