My favorite shirt

ProsDurable, Performing as Expected
I just ordered my second tropic wear shirt. We kayak a lot and this shirt is so comfortable - great for sun screen yet cool. Convenient pockets. And it looks great and fits well! Washes well too. What more could you ask for?

ProsDurable, Great Value, Performing as Expected
I love everything about these shirts except the new design. Please bring back the older shirttail design. If there are any in storage in medium - I will buy them!

tropicwear shirt
PostedJuly 7, 2011
I really like this shirt. The fabric feels very lightweight and soft. It does not cling to my skin. It completely eliminates the skin-roasting-on-the-grill sensation that I get when in full summer sun even after putting on ample amounts of quality sunscreen and waiting the recommended half-hour before going out. I do not need sunscreen with this shirt (or with the Comfort Trail shirt). The buttons do not bother me. I like the longish sleeves because they protect my hands from the sun. I can roll the sleeves up when I wish and LLBean was smart to put snap closures on the tabs that hold the sleeves in roll-up position...no buttons to fiddle with. I like the roominess of the arms because they do not cling and do not hamper me when I reach out. This shirt washes and dries very well, with almost no wrinkling (in contrast, the Comfort Trail shirt looks much more wrinkled - that problem is not the Comfort Trail fabric itself, but the Comfort Trail seams pucker a lot. The Tropicwear shirt is much neater-looking than the Comfort Trail shirt). If I had a choice, I would prefer this shirt to be made in the older boxier style (I have one from about 8 years ago) - I'm short-waisted and the tapering in the feminine style does not fit me just right - my waist is higher than the waist in the shirt. But I still like this shirt a lot.

Favorite Sun Shirt
PostedJune 26, 2011
ProsPerforming as Expected
This is my favorite shirt to wear in the hot sun and I now own it in three colors. I usually wear a small, but bought it in the extra small to give it a more fitted look. I am 5'7" and the sleeves are long enough. Thanks LL Bean for another great product.
