When I received this hat and held it in my hands, I thought it looked fantastic. I loved the color, the insignia, and the durable feel. I marveled at the fine quality for the low price. But when I put it on my head, I was sorely disappointed. The website said that it had (if my memory serves me) a "low profile." That wasn't the case. The front panel was reinforced, so the front stood up prominently when I wore it -- so much so that my 10-year-old giggled at me. The only way to make it a low-profile hat was to pull it down ridiculously low on my head, in a way that nobody would ever wear it. Perhaps there are heads out there for which this hat would work. Not mine. If LLBean revamped it into a true low-rider style hat, perhaps "unstructured" in the front panel, I'd buy three of these asap. It's really a very nice hat. That's why I was so disappointed to send it back.
This is a great looking and comfortable ball cap. It is attractive and has a feel-good quality from the beginning. I highly recommend the purchase for yourself and for others as gifts.
