Wore this shirt for the first time body-surfing in Cancun. Stayed put (slight roll-up at the bottom, but my belly rolls, too!) and at sleeves, but not enough to hinder movement. Kept sun and sand out, even when I got body-slammed into the bottom by a 6-foot shore break. Lost my goggles and almost my trunks, but the shirt stayed put and protected me from coral sand abrasions. Didn't even show any damage (my arms and hands did, though). Like armor! Highly recommended!
I should have read the reviews before buying 2 of these in large for my husband and brother-in-law who are both slim and fit. Yes, they are supposed to be tight but I still think the sizing is off and XL is no longer available so my brother-in-law gave his to his son and we are giving my husband's to our other nephew. The quality seems very good BTW.
First of all, to make what should be an obvious point: the shirt is SUPPOSED to be tight, so that it doesn't chafe while swimming or boarding.
I am 6' 1" and 215 pounds. which, according to my doctor, is borderline obese.... Based on the comments that these run small, I ordered an XL. The shirt is snug, but not uncomforably so (like it's designed to be). I wore it to the pool this afternoon, and it was a terrific product. No sunburn!
I wonder, though, if perhaps there isn't more variation in the sizing than is normal, or perhaps some sizes are mislabeled.
These shirts fit tight, speedo tight. When you order a large, you get a shirt that fits if you normally wear a size large polo shirt. It will not fit if you, like I, was a large 5 lbs ago. This seems to be a good quality swim shirt. Unfortunately, I ordered a large and when I tried to exchange it, they were out of XLs so I won't know how it holds up. I would buy it again (on sale).
