Okay, I admit it - they make a silly little "Pfff Pfff Pfff" noise as you drink, but that's okay! Its just the noise escaping from the rubberized mini hole at the top. :) Still love this bottle. Fits nicely into the little mesh side pocket of my backpack, very pretty color! (Pink, I think?) Decided to order 8 more as Christmas gifts this year, all with engraving.
Plus: With the Canteen Cozy (sold separately) and ice cubes, liquid was kept chilled for 5 hours. Minuses: Cozy makes it a bit bulky. Need to carefully close the top and push hard on the spout to seal.
I like everything about this except for the first couple weeks I used it, when I drank it made a loud sound, like a beep or a horn noise. Very unsettling around other people. I tried moving the mouth piece up/down/around, but it didn't help. Then I washed it, hoping that would change things, but it didn't. I was just ready to call LLBean and tell them I had a problem with this. I tried it one more time, and it stopped! (like a car that makes a noise and won't do it when you take it in to the mechanic). Since then (just a few days) it has been fine. So here's hoping it stays that way.
I have purchased 2 of these, one 27oz. for myself, one for my daughter. We love them! The water (or whatever beverage) tastes fresh all day, and there is NO after taste. Even if you flavorize the water one day, and have plain water the next! This did not happen with plastic bottles. They don't leak, and are easy to clean. I love that taking the cover off the nozzle opens the nozzle. There is a funny squeak when you drink from the bottle, but who cares. I use it as an opportunity to tout the other great qualities of this canteen. Thanks!
