V. disappointing at first b/c water only dribbled out when I tried drinking from it by tipping the canteen. (I had been using plastic squeeze bottles previously.) LL Bean products have never disappointed me in the past, so I figured there must be something I'm doing wrong. Right! YOU HAVE TO ACTUALLY SIP FROM THE NOZZLE, not just tip the canteen and expect the water to flow! Now, cover the soft plastic plug with your finger as you drink, and you won't hear any squeaking noise as other reviewers have reported!
The top does leak as others have reported, but my experience is that it only leaks when tipped.
The loop to attach to a bag doesn't seem to hold so that should only be a plus feature if they can perfect it and send us a free replacement if they do so.
The cozy is well worth it, or make your own.
My canteen didn't come with any use and care instructions, and that would be my recommendation to LLBean.
i ordered 2 of these, one for my husband and 1 for my son - and i should have ordered one for myself too! i gave them as xmas gifts from mother nature - we were always buying cases of bottled water, not very green of us! my son can take his back to his college dorm after the xmas break, and we won't have to carry cases of bottled water up to his dorm!! my husband is going to keep his with him when we go on walks and also for car trips - water tastes terrific in them - no aftertaste, and no chemicals leaching from plastic bottles! the mouth is even wide enough to add ice cubes! a great product!!
Great bottle. There is really nothing negative about it. Works great, exactly as advertised. Highly recommend the sport bottle if you plan on using it for working out, etc.
The bean canteen came without the clip to attach to a backpack. I had visited your store in Freeport in October and purchased a canteen without the Sport Top. The canteen came with a clip to attach to a backpack. The canteen with the Sport Top would be much better with that clip.
