The wide-mouth canteen is exactly as described. Unfortunately, nobody that has slippery fingers or is a klutz should purchase this item. The stainless steel walls are very thin and are not reinforced. Any tumble from a counter top or mishandling over an unforgiving surface and this canteen dents beyond repair. It looked nice for about a week at my house. Now it is functional, but won't sit on a flat surface.
I bought the 40-oz wide-mouth canteen in blue, requested by my son, who works at his computer most of the time and always has ice water handy to drink. He loved this when he saw it in the catalog, when it arrived and we unpacked it, and after he'd used it awhile. (I should add, he's not very easy to please!) He's glad to be using something that won't further clutter or contaminate the environment.
I do like the wide-mouth feature compared to other canteens. Easier to clean and view contents inside. Item came dented on bottom, but I kept anyways since it doesn't affect use. Monogram was smaller than I thought it would be.
