I love this bottle. I like the wide mouth because I can add ice and water easily from my refrigerator dispenser. And I can see the water level so I don't overfill and drip on the floor. And I like drinking from the wide mouth. I ordered a pink and a blue one---both great colors. They are easy to carry by the bottle top.
Great canteen to hold more volume. Negative with engraving is that the LLBean logo is bigger than personal engraving. For the next purchase, I would recommend basic stainless color as the green on my bottle is wearing off (I have had it for about 5 months).
Typical high LLBean quality, including monogramming. Unlike other similar canteens, this one has a cap that completely covers the lip, keeping it cleaner. Good large threading on lid makes it easy to use on the trail, unlike inferior bottles that have more slender threads that are difficult to re-seal while on the march. Use a carabiner on the lid to steady it in short carriers or to hook the lid to a belt loop. It fits in my older carriers for 32 oz. Nalgene bottles, including the thermal one from Outdoor Research that zips close (just barely, though, due to the loop on the LLBean lid). One shortcoming: its large size means that if you want to boil water using an electric immersion coil, as in a hotel room, it takes quite a while to boil the whole bottle (but what would you expect?). Better to use the 18 oz. version of this canteen for that purpose. Remember: a pint's a pound the world around, so at 40 oz. it weighs 2-1/2 pounds when full. Consider two 18 oz. versions of this canteens to balance a light load (I use both configurations).
