Many years ago I purchased an LLBean down comforter and had been purchasing duvets right along. But the last few years there hadn't been any new duvets that really appealed to me, so this past Spring when it was time for a new bed I decided it was also time for a new look. I LOVE the look of the quilt -- with the shams and the crotcheted bedskirt! I was a little concerned that it would be too heavy and that I would find it uncomfortable -- after sleeping so many years with the down comforter which is very light. Not a problem. Now that it has gotten cold in Michigan I have had to add a second lightweight blanket to get the same warmth I got from the down -- but it still isn't too much weight. As was suggested in other reviews, I did order the king size quilt for my new queen size bed. I am very glad that I did. The new mattress is significantly taller than the old -- and the king fits perfectly! I am so happy with this product that I have ordered the Flying Geese Quilt for the guest room!
This is an absolutely beautiful quilt that is actually more striking than the picture. It is a generous size and does a great deal to brighten up the room.
I was looking for a well-made quilt with the appearance at least of age. I looked on-line for hours at Amish quilts...too pricey. I liked this quilt, although it wasn't exactly the colors I wanted. Finally I ordered it + 1 more expensive & 1 less expensive from other companies. There was no comparrison. The one from L.L. Bean was not only the best value but also the most beautiful. I love it!
I have been searching for a bedspread/quilt/comforter for literally years now. This one jumped right out at me and it did not disappoint in person. I thought it would be more like a bedspread, though so I will need to get a bedskirt for it. Great quality too, of course. Highly recommend.
