Now these pants are wonderful! Finally, a pair of pants that are true to size. I have an athletic build and am a perfect size 4 in most pants. But many of LL Bean pants, especially the one's that have stretch, are too big for me. And they don't offer a size 2. I really am not that small, so a size 4 should fit.
These pants fit my slim, athletic build perfectly. As do the Day Hiker pants. Perfect.
Bought 2 pairs and wore the shorts every day on our vacation in Cabo San Lucas. They dry very fast if you are caught by the waves while walking on the beach.
I usually look for pants for both hiking and dog agility, but since some of my pants were getting old and torn, I bought these on sale at the off season in much of the country for hiking. The pants seem pretty good for the agility, with lots of pockets for treats and toys, and I can run well in them. But there is a problem with the zipper, since it slides down, perhaps when I'm bending over. I suspect that the waist, which is lower than I like, is to blame, since the pants fasten over the start of my stomach bulge, whereas if the waist was at my natural waist, this might not happen. I am considered to be a normal weight for my height, but I have a "mature" figure, and I hate this "modern" dropped waistband style! I want my belt to keep my pants in one position, not have them slip around (which also changes the hem length).
These pants are really great. I am 5'8' and 155 lbs, so I got a tall M and they fit perfectly with just the right amount of stretch at the waist. I have another of these kind of pants (for travelling, mostly) but these hang better, fit better and feel better. I have thin legs, and when you unzip the pants leg to make shorts, if your leg is heavy above the knee, they will be tight, but were perfect for me! A great buy on sale!
